Rules Briefing

Thursday
Participants are strongly encouraged to check in and register between 6-7pm at Gateway Lodge to fill out paperwork and/ or check-in. Rules briefing and overview starts promptly at 7pm. There will be free food served after the Thursday night rules briefing.

Those not able to attend the Thursday night rules briefing at Gateway Lodge will need to attend a rules briefing and check-in at the Gateway Lodge at 6:30am Friday.

Only one team member is mandated to attend the rules briefing and sign off, but both participants must turn in a signed insurance waiver prior to fishing.

Fish must be recorded showing the entire bump board, clearly showing the left side of the fish and the daily fishing card using a cell phone only where the time and date can be verified. No Digital Cameras Allowed.

  • $200 per 2 person team
    ($225 after October 1st)

Tournament Fishing Times

Friday fishing hours will be from 7am-5pm.

Participants must report their day’s catch no later than 7pm to the Gateway Lodge via email, phone call or text. No late entries will be accepted Saturday. Fishing hours 7am to 4pm.

Participants must use their Saturday Fishing card. They can be picked up Friday night or Saturday morning at Turtle River Trading Co., Donner's Bay or Gateway Lodge. Participants must report their days catch no later then 5pm to Gateway Lodge via email, phone call or text. All verification photos must be received by 6pm at Gateway Lodge on Saturday, October 20, 2018. No late entries will be accepted.

Banquet Saturday. Banquet will start at 6pm at Gateway Lodge, will include an all you can eat buffet. Awards and raffle will take place at 8pm.

Tournament Rules

If the same fish is caught twice by the same team, it only counts as one. Fish must be recorded showing the entire bump board, clearly show the left side of the fish and the daily fishing card using a cell phone only where the time and date can be verified. No Digital Cameras.

Cash prizes are awarded in a point system 36" to 38" = 8pts, 38" to 40" = 10pts, 40" legal musky is 25pts. One additional point will be awarded for every 1 I 2" over 40". Cash prizes are based on the total points accumulated during the two days of fishing and amounts are subject to the number of teams participating. $5,400 in prize money based on 60 teams.

The Gateway Lodge will promote on social media after the tournament, the sizes of fish caught and team winners. It is always nice and helpful to Gateway Lodge and its sponsors for Mercer Muskie Madness to have candid shots of you and the musky for promotional purposes.
